Our service now includes restoration of antique items primarily tea caddies, writing slopes, card cases, sewing boxes and their sewing tools, small boxes, mirror frames and small furniture, especially carved pieces. The finishing touches, particularly knobs are a speciality, and are supplied to restorers worldwide.    |
This is a rare paduak tea caddy with laburnum stalk
turned and carved to form a pumpkin. The hinge, lock and escutcheon
all test for sterling silver, but are not hallmarked. The lock works
but the hasp is broken. It has a patinated lead lined interior and the
wood is over 150 years old. Measures 125mm (5”) diameter and 125mm
(5”) high.
