Description
Jousse, reproductions of illustrations of ornamental metal work forming “l’art du serrurier” par Mathurin Jousse. Reproduced for the Department of science and art in photo lithography by W. Griggs. Published in 1889 in ten parts as loose leaf folios. A bit distressed around the folio edges, but the prints are good on laid paper with the embossed mark of the science museum with crown.
The original illustrations are dated 1627. Most of the illustrations are of escutcheons, handles and keys.
The folios are 28cm x 37cm long. The prints are on average 28cm x 22cm. There are 28 printed pages. Most are ideal for framing.
