Description
A miniature Roman oinochoe with snake handle believed to be from the 20th century. This is a replica of an ancient oinochoe. It has a ribbed and footed body and is glazed in black. The snake design symbolised healing in Roman times. There are tiny chips to the neck and on the glaze. This has great charm. It measures just 2 3/4″ high or 67mm.
