Description
A small mother of pearl jewellery box measuring 4 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ x 2 1/8″. The shell is very pretty turbo mammoratus (green snail). This has a lovely cushioned effect to the pearl which has pink and green iridescence. It stands on tiny bone feet and has a small button catch which snaps shut soundly. The interior has ivory slips and is lined in padded emerald green floral silk. The lid needs support when open. Dating from the end of the Victorian era.
