A Regency rosewood tea caddy of superb quality. With finely figured rosewood, boxwood stringing, a bone escutcheon. The key is present but the lock does not work. At the sides are brass ring handles and it stands on brass eagle claw feet. It has the original paper lining inside the lid, above three compartments. The central compartment has the original cut glass mixing bowl. This is flanked on either side by drop in tea compartments that fit like a glove. The compartments have been neatly lead lined. The lid has a lovely finely embossed floral paper lining. A good example of Regency elegance. Measures 12″ x 6″ x 8″.
