Description
A Georgian mahogany tea caddy c. 1800 with parquetry inlay at the front. It has a rare interior gilded lid, reused from a shop sign, at a time when mahogany was very valuable. With ivory turned knobs on the two lids, and a working key. Lead lined compartments. Measuring 8 1/2″ x 4 7/8″ x 5″.
