An ivory and shell tea caddy with a dome top and turtle shell stringing to all edges. This is in the Georgian style and shows some wear. The lock, hinges, escutcheon, vacant cartouche, inlays and handles all test for silver but are not hallmarked. The lead foil interior has been relined, including the drop in internal lid, and the base is fabric covered. The lock does not work although the key is present. There are some shrinkage cracks in the ivory, but the condition is otherwise excellent. Measures 4″ long x 2 3/4″ deep x 4″ high.
