Description
A superb late Victorian bois de dame French or Swiss sewing box in walnut. With very fine parquetry stringing and banding to the top and front. And with a canted top edge and key. A really beautiful box with a soft faded look all over and in very good original condition. The interior is a pretty deep rose pink and expertly padded; the jewellery drawer under the compartment is also padded to match. There is a set of mother of pearl handled sewing tools included as seen in the photos. Possibly purchased on a grand tour of Europe. It measures 12″ x 9″ x 6″
