Description
A Palais royale jewellery box with provenance. This walnut box with ebonised edging was given to Frank Walter, tailor, by the Ahmeer of Afganistan circa 1895 for services rendered. The box is super condition for its age, with minimal wear, and was obviously treasured. It has a serpentine shaped top, a little key to lock, and a mirror inside the lid. With a pretty pink, printed paper lining, (one ink blot). Lovely quality fine veneer. Measuring 7 1/4″ x 3 1/2″ x 2 3/8″. An interesting piece of history.
