Description
A Regency tent top sewing box clad in leather from c.1820’s. With original ormolu fittings, key and mirror. All lined inside in turquoise blue paper with similar colour silk. Under the fitted interior is a useful little drawer. This drawer locks by using a small metal pin. The side handles, feet and escutcheons are all embossed with a floral theme. The mirror only reflects the light and a misty image now. The leather covering is a little faded and scratched and has been repaired in times past. The original crimson colour remains inside and on the needlebook cover. Well used, well loved and charming. Measures 7 1/2″ long x 5 1/4″ deep x 5″ high.
